There is one seam on the side of the cap, allowing for some flexibility in opening it wider at the bottom, and the opening at the top is about 1mm across

This cap is solid brass, hand patinated to a beautiful vintage finish in a small independent studio in the United States. This brass has not been sealed after the patination process, so it can be left as is to age further or sprayed with a clear acrylic such as Krylon(R). Lead and nickel free
